Dave Noe and John Thomas began a friendship in 1981 when Dave was looking for some used parts for a 1979 Gold Wing. John had just finished refurbishing a 1977 yellow Gold Wing and had given the left-over parts to Dave. As a result Dave and John decided to start a business called "D&J's Gold Wing Parts", so the could begin buying and selling used Gold Wing parts. They went to different dealers and bought used items such as Vetter Faring, saddlebags, trunks, Califeia and Honda-line parts, used engines, wheel, forks, rear ends, etc. But they wanted more! Then Dave and John heard of a chrome dealer going out of business so they made him an offer on all his inventory. The purchase included Drag, Show Chrome, Add On, and Markland items. They even took the peg board hooks! Then they had to get down to brass tacks and start selling those parts and accessories. That's how "D&J's Gold Wing Parts" got into business.
At that time Dave and John both had full time jobs. Dave was an auto mechanic, and John was a high school auto shop teacher. That"s where Lucille, Dave's wife came into the picture. They didn't have time during the day to make contacts; so Lucille took care of the paper work, booked the shop work and scheduled rally dates. Today she finds herself also involved in the maintenance and repair work.
Business is now booming. The large showroom and complete repair shop are stocked with Honda OEM parts, Show Chrome, Add On, Markland, Drag, KuryAkyn, Motul and Golden Spectro oils, NGK spark plugs, rains suits, gloves, J&M headsets, Custom Touring Windshields. In addition they have the best tire and oil prices around.
